Great Weekend!

What a great weekend! It's very close to my birthday, so we celebrated Friday night with John's family where we had great food great company and some nice gifts. :) Saturday John and I purchased a car to replace my Rodeo (which we are giving to Steven). We bought a navy blue 2005 Cadillac CTS. This car makes me so happy. Yay. I included some pictures of my baby.

After that we went to Louisville to Outback with Shannon and Billy Duncan (Shanilly) where I learned what ailoi means. ...came on my sandwich. ailoi = tasty if you were wondering what it means, must be Australian. Anyway... we went back to the Duncan home to have game night. It was ON! My the time we got back from dinner John was so riled up and ready to game....he said that he didn't even have time to stop for snacks, but Billy was driving so Mr. Gamer Extraordinaire had to wait. Haha. I included pictures of game night as well so that you can imagine the fun... These are pictures of us playing Guestures which I guess I need to stop at this point and say that Shannon and I are an unstoppable force when it comes to a charades-type game. The boys insist on teaming together every time we play this games and they ALWAYS lose very sorely by agreeing that we cheat somehow. We do not cheat, we just kick butt.

Sunday Cindy Crawford came over and I tried on my dress for her and we worked on the dance for the pageant girls and ultimately went to Wally World.

Dancing in Frankfort

So every year for the past four or five years my friend (who has requested that in a blog she may be referred to as Cindy Crawford) and I have done the coordination of the Ms. Pre-Teen Franklin Co. Fair Pageant. Every year we seem to wait later and later to come up with the dance and closer and closer to time of the first practice to start practicing it. This year the theme is peace, love and hope or something like that and we have decided that we are dancing to "Crazy Dreams" by Carrie Underwood. Its a really cute song for preteens to dance to but after the 30th time in a row that we listen to it and try to come up with moves, it gets really old. I will be singing it in my sleep now. We decided this year that we would practice over at Lakeview in the Pavilion because that is where the girls will be performing it. I didn't realize how much traffic that Pavillion gets during a normal weekday! We had a couple that didn't seem to be marching to the same drummers as most on planet Earth joined us first in the Pavillion. I swear that the man yelled "Now that that that is what I am TALKING ABOUT!" But he was not referring to us. Then I think what I heard was him loudly recite the alphabet. They stayed almost the whole hour and a half we were there. There was a boy about 15 that came and layed on a picnic table near where we were dancing and a lady that came to change into running gear in the Pavillion bathroom. She stayed much longer than it normally takes to lace up some running shoes, but I bet we were entertaining playing the same song over and over and over and just staring at each other flailing every now and then trying to think of dance moves.

We got about half of the dance finished....practice is Monday. Did I mention that we like to wait to the last minute? Normally we work together, Cindy Crawford and I, but this year we don't so we can't set aside time at work to dedicate to dance making. Anyway, what else happened today. ....Still up in the air about where we are going for the Bachelorette Party Weekend. Maybe Indianapolis now or Columbus. I was told at work that Cincinnatti is not as happening as I imagined. Whatever. Peanut ran out of the house today while I was leaving to meet Cindy Crawford. I tricked him though. He is normally really hard to get back in the house. He is really fast and stubborn and evil, but he is a sucker for treats or a car ride. I chose faking out of a car ride this go around. Fell for it. He aggravates me sometimes. I yelled. He didn't seem to care. He got to pee on our mailbox which is apparently what he really wanted to do.

John is on this kick now where he really really likes this band called Avenged Sevenfold. He plays it all the time. I actually have become a fan myself....but he plays it so much that I call that band his peanut butter sandwhich. The reason is because when he was younger he would eat peanut butter sandwhiches like they were GOING OUT OF STYLE and now hates them. So I call the band his peanut butter sandwhich....the same day I started calling them that he turned to me after getting in the car and sang "Peanut Butter Sandwhich time, Peanut Butter Sandwhich time ....peanut butter sandwhich peanut butter sandwhich peanut butter sandwhich" all fast like the song ...peanut butter jelly time. ....anyway it CRACKED me up because he did it so well and fast and all of the sudden. ...oh I love him...crazy boy. If I get a chance I will attach some of the p.b.s. music to this blog.

I might be a blogger after all.

Who knows I might actually be able to keep up with this thing. Right now I'm on my lunch break. I work at the Boone National Guard Center in Frankfort. I have a 45 minute lunch which sounds like a lot. By the time I get home and play dog mommy and eat its no time at all. I guess you just cant make me happy. :)

Last night I got Tater's dropper/syringe measuring thing stuck in the tiny medicine bottle. I still can't get it out. I had to pour out the medicine into a bowl and find the other measuring thingy. That doesnt sound as dramatic as it actually was though, the syringe thing wouldnt come out!!!!! Maybe that punctuation will help emphasize the frustration I had. The medicine is still in the bowl. Easier to get to that way.

I have like 5 minutes now to eat my carboard Healthy Choice. I have lost 12 pounds by the way. Yay for me. Don't ask me how I did it...I just did.

Yay I have a blog!

Ok, so I totally copied Shannon and started a blog. I am really bad at keeping up with things like this but who knows, maybe somebody will read this and maybe it will make them happy....ok happy is a stretch. Maybe it will make them less bored. You shouldn't sneeze at being less bored. Alright next item on the schedule is to start talking about me, my life, John I guess since I put his name on the blog. He doesn't know we have a blog now. Hm, maybe I should mention that to him when I get a chance.

Um, well let's start with random things about myself that come to mind as I type.

I am engaged to John Burns Roberts. He and I are from Frankfort, KY. We met through a blind date type arrangement. Well, we went to middle school together but didn't know each other existed so I still call it a blind date. My friend Alex fixed us up on a double date to see 8 Mile and dinner at O'Charley's. Ok, I want to stop right here and tell you that I do not know what is up with this keyboard but the apostrophe is sticking and being really crazy so nothing is getting an apostrophe from here on out unless I feel the extreme need. Ok, ready to continue...like I was saying we met at a horrible date movie and he was late and tried to pay me back for the ticket I bought for myself. I remember that he was handsome and very tall and not very talkative. Well I have since learned how to pry the words from him and around people he is comfortable with he is a regular ol chatterbox.

John and I are getting married on September 19, 2009 (9-19-09). He has a house in Georgetown that I will be moving in to after we wed. I cant wait. To be completely honest (which I feel like I can be honest with you.....the world wide web visitors) I am really ready to move in and Ill tell you why.....I want a good shower and some flippin peace and quiet and a tv in my room. Is that too much for a girl to ask for?! I love my aunt and she has been overly generous in allowing me to stay with her for this last oh...year ...plus some....but my mothers two dogs live here as well along with my aunts dog and well ...its just a bit cramped I think. And the shower has not worked right for a few months. I swear to everything good that her dog is for real passing gas right beside me right now....oh I need out. Ok, well I think I was a little too wordy with this first post, but like I said....not good at this type of thing but Im trying!
