So my big news is that I just got a sewing and embroidery machine today and I'm soooo excited! I've already gotten it set up and broken it twice and finally came out with a result! ..So all in all I think it's a success!
First I think we need to start out with a few pictures of the dog to warm up to the big ending...pictures of my new piece of equipment that I don't really need....
Here we go...Admiral on the couch with John...he pretty much took my place on the daggone couch.
I used to think I hated this shirt and it had no purpose in the universe but I was wrong...put it on a helpless but big doggy...instantly funny.
Next, I got a haircut on Friday....much much needed...and this is my first attempt at doing a 'wavy hair' thing. ...you know the scrunchy hair look...
And Penutimately, we have the chinup bar that finally got installed. John got this for Christmas and he got it hung this Friday...we don't want to rush into an exercise program...
Lastly the main event... My Sewing/Embroidery Machine!
Here is the quilt I've been working on for quite some time that will be done sometime in the undetermined future.
So let's continue on this ever-so-fascinating journey into the past as we review 2009 in the third chapter of what is apparently a three-blog saga....
September: Gearing up for wedding time...The weekend of the 11-13 Shannon and Cindy Crawford gave me the greatest Bachelorette Weekend ever! Too bad I was a little ill the whole weekend...Picture time.
Saturday we went to Louisville Stoneware and painted pottery ...so fun!
This is Saturday night going out on Fourth Street.
WE GOT MARRIED!!!! 09-19-09 So this is really a bridal photo and not wedding day...but the wedding pictures are soon to come! (Believe it or not I didn't take any pictures with my camera on my wedding day!) haha of course I didn't ..so I don't have any in electronic form...
We also went to Aruba! Photos to come... It was SOOO pretty and wonderful in Aruba...it didn't hurt that it was all inclusive for food, drinks, and alcohol...Let's just say we were in a great mood the whole trip! We also discovered that we both hate to fly!
October: Pretty uneventful, There was Halloween were I didn't even dress up...long story..I wasn't happy.... But I did pass out candy to all the little ones and they were SO adorable. ..We had so many trick or treaters that we ran out of candy and had to give away tiny packs of Juicy Fruit. :) Better than pennies...right?
These are my Graveyard Cupcakes that I took to work.
November: My last day of work at the National Guard was in November...along with Thanksgiving.. Also New Moon came out in November... this is me as a Vampire before John took me to the movies.
December: The first day of December I started my new job with the State Gommint. I now work in the Bush Building downtown Frankfort which is right next to the Paul Sawyer Library...everyone is so incredibly nice there... I work officially at the Division of Engineering and Contract Administration and also for the Division of Facility Efficiency...but don't let that impress you too much..I'm the receptionist....but I can file and answer phones like the wind blows...:) And they are very appreciative that I can follow instructions..they act like I'm a GENIUS! They also think that I'm a psychologist because I have a Bachelor's of Science in Psy....oh well it's nice to be appreciated.
Me at my desk
Also in December we got our little sweet baby puppy.... He was born in October but we didn't get him until December. This was the first night we brought him home. Cindy Crawford went with me to pick him up at the airport. He really disappointed her by sleeping the entire trip back home.
John stayed home with him the first week and here is a picture of them playing.
July: Family Reunion in Alabama There were 3 people with the name John R. at the reunion...weird
August: We got iPhones...? maybe? I don't remember ...at this point it was a month before the wedding! This is a pic of John buying the phones....ok I'm sure we bought these way before August but I need a picture for August.
Once again ....I have to break here ...John is back with Subway and there is no waiting for me to finish the blog....do you see a pattern? John gets hungry = no time for blogging. :)
Ok, so 2009 was a super eventful year and I won't remember it all but I can try ...let's start the review!
January: I remember storms and such but my aunt's house wasn't effected by it too much I just missed a little work because I was too big of a chicken to drive under a mile to get there...at the time I was working at the National Guard and living in River Bend, Frankfort. :) Yeah I wouldn't drive that distance haha. I bought my wedding dress this month! Let's see if I can find some Jan pics. Gotta love Windows and the sort by month picture organizer :) Ok didn't take any pictures that month but I'm sure in your mind you can see my January.
February: John and I didn't plan out Valentine's too well and ended up kinda skipping it I think. Also this was John's birthday, big 23, and we didn't do too much for that either...trying to save for the wedding.
March: Eh I don't usually mess too much with March. I'm too worried about Spring to come to care about March. Steven turned 19.
April: Alex and Shannon both turned 23 and I remember I didn't make a cake for either one of them since I was too self absorbed apparently....I remember I didn't even wrap Alex's gift (purse and jewelry) and I stuck the card (unsigned) in the purse, went to quick lunch at Subway which I didn't pay for her lunch either...Keep in mind that I certainly meant to sign the card, wrap the present, and pay for her lunch but nothing really turned out that way...at least she got it and a good laugh later about my craziness... I think I do have pics of April though they will definitely be random!
Yep, very random..My nephew Christian turned 2.
June: I turned 23 and so did I think Jennie, Kate, Candra, and Rachel...don't be mad if I got it wrong. :)...and James right? Oh well...I got a car!
Crap I was so excited for June I skipped May: We took a trip to Gatlinburg with our friends Chris and Mallaurie Scott. This is our ugly face....
So I'm gonna take a break at mid-year and publish this since John just woke up and instantly wants to get dressed and go out for breakfast....so bye for now.
I'm a four month old Great Dane and around 8:00 every night I like to run like a crazy dog around the living room. My usual circuit is around and around the coffee table at a galloping pace and then I start my sprints. I run quickly from one end of the living room to the other as fast as I can. Usually since I'm all legs and no coordination, I end up running really fast toward one end of the room, crash into the sofa and start toward the other end of the room where I flip over my bed, root around in it and head back for the sofa. Last night I hit the wall near my bed a little too hard and knocked a big fist-sized dent in it. Daddy was really upset about his wall, Mommy was really upset about me hitting the wall so hard and I was really upset they were now standing in my way! My exercise routine was over for the night and I wasn't finished! I think then they started talking about the time it would take me to be full grown and how someday I wouldn't have puppy energy any more.
I am (for lack of a better term) a secretary for the Division of Engineering and Contract Administration for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. I've been told that 'Queen Bee' would be a better title. I do everything from mundane tasks to larger scale reporting and generally LOVE the people I work with so I consider myself very lucky. I am married to my best bud and I know how cheesy that sounds. We have a little one by the name of Admiral. (he is a Great Dane) He goes by many aliases including Mr. Stinky, The Walrus, Stinkamous, Mr. Floppy, Fat Head and the list goes on. I'm a beginner crafter but I have several quilts and other projects under my belt that I'm super proud of. I LOVE to bake and cupcakes are my self-proclaimed specialty. I think I really just like being creative with the flavor combos...and they are so cute and yummy. I compulsively use ellipses inappropriatly.......to make my written word flow the way I want. I have to say I'm very content with my life.
